to the 'home-page' of St. Thecla parish. As you browse through this website, I think you will find  that the parish is a wonderful and vibrant parish.
Attending any of the weekend liturgies, or touring the school, will give you a healthy understanding of what our community is - baptized Christians, "sharing the light of Christ through our community."  This website can also be of great aide to you as new parishioner, learning about the many upon many, activities and events in which you can offer your time, talent, and treasures.   And if you are an established parishioner, you can see the many things that perhaps you were or are currently involved in that promote and strengthen the parish to be a viable, vibrant and vigilant community of faith.

Sincerely,

Father Charles Ratnasamy

SAVE THE DATE!!!

St. Thecla School

50th Anniversary/Reunion

September 11, 2010

If you remember-Hot Dog Days, Color Tag, Sewer Tag, Forensics, School Plays and Christmas Shows- this is for YOU!

With the Felician Sisters at the helm, we learned together, prayed together and played together-and it had great impact in forging our character and spirituality.

Five decades of young people-from 1960-2010, have moved through our hallowed halls and many have gone on to send their own children to St. Thecla School. Some even returned to work here! That, we think, says it all!

Pull out your Blackberries or personal calendars and save Saturday, September 11, 2010, for the St. Thecla School 50th Year Anniversary Celebration. We will start with 4:00 p.m. Mass and then move into the Gym for an Open House from 5-9 p.m. You are invited to  return on Sunday, September 12 for our St. Thecla Parish Homecoming Picnic.

There is much to be done! You can help in many ways:

  • If you would like to join the committee, please contact us at 50years@stthecla.com All are welcome!
  • If you know how to find someone-classmates; teachers; please let us know.
  • We are also looking for stories you would love to share. Please include names and events as well as scanned pictures.
  • We are collecting old photos (electronic or paper copies only, no originals, please label with dates and names if possible) and other memorabilia (uniforms, beanies, ties, pennants, yearbooks, lunch boxes etc.) Especially needed is the old maroon and gray girls uniform. (Again, please label with name and phone number.) These items will be returned.

If you have any questions, want to send us something or want to sign up to be a part of this night, let us know by emailing 50years@stthecla.com

or write us at  St. Thecla School, 20762 S. Nunneley Road, Clinton Twp., MI 48035  attention: 50th Anniversary. Please submit all stories, photos via the above email by May 30, 2010. Please bring or mail memorabilia to the school by May 30 2010.

Please keep this event in your prayers!

“For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare, and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
