Ministries Music Ministry
Newcomers are always welcome, vocalists and instrumentalists alike. If you have a desire to join us in the following ministries call Gerrie Ball at 586-791-3930 ext. 318, home at 313-521-4663, or email him at ballg@stthecla.com, or just stop by and say hello after Mass.
THE ST. THECLA CHOIR ministers the 10 am Sunday Mass and also for various holy days and solemnities. This ensemble meets on Thursday evenings from 7:00pm to 9:00pm . All men and women of the parish are welcome to join. Cantors for masses are volunteers from this choir and rehearse an additional hour each week. Consider becoming part of this vital ministry and raising your voice in prayer and praise. Our adult choir is growing but there is always room for more!
THE RESURRECTION CHOIR is a dedicated group of men and women who sing for the funeral and memorial liturgies. Popular liturgical songs and hymns are sung for the purpose of comforting those who mourn the loss of a loved one at the time they need comforting the most. Rehearsals are thirty minutes before a funeral or memorial service begins.
CHILDREN OF GOD is our young people's ensemble that sings at Saturday 4pm Masses or Sunday Noon Masses about once a month. Children grades 3 through 6 are invited to join this fun, lively, and exciting ensemble. This ensemble meets on Thursday afternoons from 3:45 to 4:30.
7pm Sunday Night mass at St. Claude Chapel is a great opportunity for junior high and high school students to get involved in our music ministry. We encourage all age groups to provide the vocals and instrumentals at this Mass. The group meets at 6:15 in the Blue Room to go over the music.
Yours in Christ and in song,
Gerrie Ball

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)
The RCIA is for those 16 and older who are:
- Thinking of becoming Catholic or would like to become Catholic
- Have been baptized Catholic and need First Eucharist and/or Confirmation
The RCIA is a friendly process that begins with a time of honest inquiry and review of topics like the existence of God, nature of Man, mystery of creation, origin of evil and suffering, and the life of Jesus. At the end of this initial period, if candidates for Baptism express their intention to become Catholic, they are accepted into the order of Catechumens, and along with all the other participants are anointed with the Sign of the Cross and receive special blessings. This is a time of nurturing, deep spiritual growth, and continuing personal conversion for all in the parish.
On the first Sunday of Lent those seeking to enter the Church visit Blessed Sacrament Cathedral to appear before Cardinal Maida as a formal expression of their intention to become full members of the Church. The period of Lent includes special blessings, the Scrutinies, and becomes a time of intense personal reflection and prayer.
At the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday evening, all will receive those sacraments which will bring them into full communion with the Catholic Church. The period following Easter provides the time for shared reflections on the journey to faith and explores ways to help live as an active Catholic. Bring a friend! Come see where time well spent will lead. Be not afraid! The Journey to Faith is a great trip and we never walk alone.
We meet on Sunday mornings from 10:30-12:15, September through May.
For more information about becoming Catholic contact Connie Kansa, RCIA Coordinator at 586-792-0550, ext. 365 kansac@tthecla.com
