The Mission Statement of St. Thecla Catholic School
We, the faculty and parents of St. Thecla Catholic School, empowered by our own faith, we believe ourselves to be a living, growing school community of faith. To this end, we commit ourselves to:
- Enriching the seed of faith in our youth through God's word, the Sacraments, and catechesis;
- Providing educational opportunities for our youth, to develop positive self-images, academic achievement, and personal growth by active participation in the learning process; and,
- Caring for and accepting one another by developing an attitude of behavior in an atmosphere of respect and Christian charity.
The Philosophy of St.Thecla Catholic School
St. Thecla Catholic School serves as an integral extension of the educational ministry of the Church, which continues the teaching of Jesus.
We endeavor to:
- Develop and direct the growth of the whole person centered in Jesus Christ through the integration of culture and faith in living commitment to a greater Christian service to all and the up-building of God's kingdom here and now,
- Involve and assist parents in their task of nurturing their children's faith, developing their academic skills, instilling in them a sense of responsibility and inner-direction, guiding them to the achievement of moral freedom and inspiring them to a sense of Christian mission in life;
- Incorporate truth and value into the curriculum; and,
- Respect and value the racial diversity unique to our school by bringing about an awareness of the word of God through prayer, celebrations, and social justice issues.
